Interior Firefighting (Mod D) - CANCELLED - Sep. 15 - Oct. 31
PURPOSE: This 60-hour program is designed to equip entry level firefighters with basic knowledge, skills and abilities as they relate to interior fire ground operations. It introduces new firefighters to basic information including fire streams, self contained breathing apparatus, rescue, ventilation, fire suppression, salvage, and firefighter survival. A written examination is conducted at the conclusion of the program. Students must pass with at least a 70% and be able to demonstrate the required practical skills to be successful in the program.

FireFighter's Challenge - Oct. 3
The Rural Security Fire Company will be hosting it's first ever Firefighters' Challenge. The Challenge is open to Individual's and Team's. Come out and compete for trophies, awards, as well as bragging rights for the next year.Event is free to the public with no fee for parking so you can come out and
cheer on your favorite Competitors.
Leadership I (Fire Service Supervision) - Oct. 3
This class is being taught by Bucks. It is only a one day class. Anyone interested in taking this class please let me know as soon as possible so I know if we have enough people for the class. The class is requred to have 15 people for it to be held.
Operations in Large and Complex Structures - Oct. 3 - Oct. 4
Operations in "big box" stores, manufacturing plants or any large commercial occupancy can quickly become a firefighter's nightmare. With massive areas to search, long hose stretches with big lines to give the needed fire flows and a myriad of other concerns for firefighters, company and chief officers to ponder, fires in large and complex structures require a different mind-set than a residential fire. With a vacant industrial complex as a setting for this program, Captain Barnas will challenge the participants to the max. Don't miss out on this intense hands-on program!
Haz-Mat First Responder Operations (NFPA 472), 24 hours - Oct. 5 - Oct. 20
This course is intended to provide the student with the knowledge and skills required at the First Responder/Operations level of hazardous materials response. This course consists of both Classroom and Hands on Training (Lab) where the student will participate in various techniques to control a Haz-Mat Situation.
Foam Firefighter Technician (NFFT) 16 hours - Oct. 7 - Oct. 10
Prerequisites: Essentials of Firefighting or Delmar Entry Level or Firefighter 1.Referenced Texts: National Foam, Inc. Instructional Package
Course Goal: A student in this course should be of the decision makers level who will be responsible for size-up and suppression.
Description of Course: They will be introduced to basic information concerning the history of foam concentrates. They will receive the information to make the correct selection of foam concentrates based on the hazard, foam terminology, application rates and techniques, proportioning equipment and trouble shooting, and discharge devises associated with foam fire fighting.
Aerial Apparatus Operations Extended (AELX), 24 hours - Oct. 10 - Oct. 18
This course will give a more extensive treatment of the subject of aerial device operation than is afforded by the 16 hour version, AELA. Through both classroom and hands-on practice, students will become familiar with basic design and operational theory of aerial devices, safety considerations, spotting and stabilizing, device operation, elevated master stream, and rescue. An introduction to basic truck company operations is also included.
Incident Safety Officer - Oct. 10 - Oct. 11
This course focuses on the duties of the person who finds him/herself in the role of the responding safety officer at the scene of an incident. It is an incident-specific, scene-oriented course designed to teach what a safety officer on the scene needs to know and be able to do, using scenario to convey instructions points.
Introduction to the Fire Service (ELIS) - Oct. 10 - Oct. 11
The goal of this program is to equip entry level firefighters with basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to begin their fire service career. Through classroom sessions and practical fieldwork, the recruit/new firefighter will learn how to function safely and effectively as a support member of a fire suppression organization. This course is designed to introduce new firefighters to basic information including an overview of the fire service, fire service organization, firefighter safety, personal protective equipment and terrorism awareness.
This is the first of four courses in the curriculum.
Pump Operations 1 (PUOP) 16 Hours - Oct. 14 - Oct. 29
This course provides the fire fighter with an introduction to basic pump construction and theory as well as operating techniques. Emphasis is placed on getting water to the pump, getting water from the pump for hose streams, and prevention of common mistakes in pump operations.
LEARN HOW TO RESPOND TO A HYBRID - Oct. 19
The hybrid course will cover essential information to help ensure that emergency rescue situations involving occupants of hybrid vehicles can be handled as safely as possible. Topics include history and purpose of hybrid vehicles, hybrid theory, hybrid vehicle battery, hybrid electrical motor, and control systems.
